Still Knitting the Blues: Midnight Mermaid from Silkworm Studios

This must be blue phase these days. I can't seem to get enough of these beautiful deep blues threaded with purple. This is a lovely hand-dyed sock yarn from Silkworm studios and I am so enjoying knitting it. It's has wonderful stitch definition and the color swirl is somewhere between a peacock's tail and an aggie marble. 

Finishing the Blue & Rust Shawl: Another Learning Experience

I was happy enough with the results when I finished this shawl woven from Malibrigo Mechita yarn which I purchased maybe five years ago with no clear idea of what to do with it. It was sticky to weave as single ply fuzzy wool is probably not the best choice here. And I just enough if I combined all three colors to finish though it was a bit shorter than I had originally planned. Still, folded in half the long way it is a perfect and incredibly soft and cozy fit under a coat.
