This is a project long in the making, ever since I first started reading Fighting Women News magazine, founded by Valerie Eads. This was the cover of the first issue, and sadly, the magazine folded after about 5 issues. But I have always loved this image, and am at last going to embroider it on the back of my jean jacket!
